  9. Complementary indications: The EU declaration of conformity shall include a statement by the propulsion engine manufacturer and the person adapting an engine in accordance with Article 6, paragraphs 4, b) and c), according to which:

a) If installed in a watercraft according to the installation instructions accompanying the engine, the latter will satisfy:
1) the exhaust emission requirements of this decree;
2) the limit values laid down in Directive 97/68/EC for engines type-approved in accordance with Directive 97/68/EC which comply with the emission limits of Stage III A, Stage III B or stage IV for compression-ignition engines used in applications other than propulsion of inland waterway vessels, locomotives and railcars, as provided for in point 4.1.2 of Annex I to that Directive; or
3) the limit values set out in Regulation (EC) No 595/2009. for engines type-approved in accordance with that Regulation.

The engine shall not be put into service until the watercraft in which it is to be installed has been declared compliant, if any, with the relevant provision of this decree.

If the engine has been placed on the market during the further transitional period referred to in the second paragraph of Article 46, the EU declaration of conformity shall mention this.
